Century-old film show will be reconstructed in Kharkiv

Century-old film show will be reconstructed in Kharkiv Historical reconstruction of public film show that could have been held in Kharkiv hundred years ago will be held in Kharkiv state Kotlyarevsky University of Arts.
 
The site of Kharkiv regional state administration informed about it making reference to Victoria Marenich, the director of press and information administration of Kharkiv regional state administration – co-chairperson of steering committee of International Film Festival «Kharkiv Lilacs». 
 
The reconstruction will be held as a part of the project «Kharkiv Lilacs. PS». The students of art university will take part in it.
 
The screening will show a mute feature film «Dying swan» that was shown in Kharkiv previously. The film was released in 1916 by Russian director Eugene Bauer. The film duration is 50 minutes. The top-liner actors of pre-revolutionary cinema play in the film. They are Vitold Polonsky and famous Russian ballet-dancer Vera Coralli. 
 
«We have no idea of how were the film shows held before but due to the film historician we will create stiffly accurate reconstruction of the event. The idea of reconstruction itself intends that we find something that is really attractive to the nowadays audience. Something that really shows that «Kharkiv Lilacs» is a brand. The idea itself won’t leave anyone who would be indifferent. Subsequently it will give an opportunity to held such events regularly», – the director of the department informed.
 
The reconstruction of the film show will be held on September, 17.
