A baby buffalo was born in Kharkiv zoo The buffalo family living in Kharkiv zoo has a become bigger.

The head of instructional department of the zoo, Tamara Saprykina, informed that the baby was born in the evening of July, 29.

The nurse child is now in general open-air cage along with his parents and other members of  herd but the mother protects him from his elder brothers and sisters.

«Most probably it is a boy, though we can’t tell it for sure, as the parents of the baby won’t let us examine him. It is not the first newborn buffalo in our zoo so we know how other buffalos treat them», -  the head of instructional department noted.

Tamara Saprykina specified that there are 7 animals in the herd at the moment. They are male beast Fugas, grown up female animals Vesta and Vojna and other four common babies.
