Lieutenant General, Acting National Security Advisor to the President of the United States Joseph Keith Kellogg was impressed by the spirit of the citizens of Kharkiv during his visit.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said this in an interview with the Dumka outlet. The Mayor noted that during the visit, the American delegation visited Northern Saltivka and got acquainted with the Kharkiv know-how – ‘safe bus stops’.
‘The General was surprised that such a Kharkiv know-how exists today, that it has been implemented. He was impressed that despite the ongoing war, we have already reconstructed 66 buildings and will continue to do so. We toured the building sites under construction. He was impressed by the Kharkiv spirit. He promised to support Ukraine and especially the City of Kharkiv in every way possible,’ said Ihor Terekhov.
He also said that during the talks he drew the delegation’s attention to the very short distance to the border with Russia. ‘It is natural that Kharkiv needs the most advanced weapons and modern air defense systems,’ the Mayor emphasized.
We remind that following his visit to Ukraine, Joseph Keith Kellogg is expected prepare a report for the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Ukraine’s urgent needs.
