The ambassador of Great Britain is visiting Kharkiv

The ambassador of Great Britain is visiting Kharkiv On November, 20 Kharkiv mayor Gennadiy Kernes met with Simon Smith, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
 
During the meeting Gennadiy Kernes noted that Kharkiv is often involved in international projects and collaborates with 24 twin-cities from 17 countries of the world.
 
For his part, Simon Smith thanked the mayor for the reception and said that this was the first opportunity for him to get familiar with Kharkiv and its leaders.
 
According to the British Ambassador, the main purpose of his visit was to attend the opening of the workshop within the project "Raising awareness on unconventional gas - economic opportunity and environmental fuses." The event was held in the conference hall of the Academic Council of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. The seminar was organized by the Embassy of Great Britain and the British Council in Ukraine together with the company "Shell in Ukraine."
 
"Company "Shell in Ukraine" is developing the project. There are prospects of the gas industry in your area. We want to discuss the prospects of potential investments, problems. It is the first purpose of the visit. And the second one is to get acquainted with Kharkiv. I will come back to your city, it's very visitable, "- Simon Smith said.
 
During the meeting the parties discussed the current state of economic and social development of Kharkiv, and the possibilities of cooperation between Kharkiv and the UK.
