New year trade fair of twin-cities opened on Svobody square New year trade fair of foreign twin-cities and partners started its work on Svobody square on Dceember, 22.
 
Igor Terekhov, the deputy mayor in questions of development and maintenance of the city took part in opening of the fair. 
 
He welcomed everyone on behalf of Kharkiv mayor Gennadiy Kernes. "I am grateful to all who supported our initiative and decided to take part in the fair. It is a real holiday for all citizens, and visitors of the city. Today, on the biggest  square in Europe we really see the holiday, which foreshadows the New Year. And today's weather - sprinkle of snow and frost will add us mood. Good luck to all in new year," - Igor Terekhov said.
 
The Department of International Cooperation reported that foreign representatives that operate in Kharkiv were also invited. This year the fair was attended by Belgorod (Russia), Brno (Czech Republic), Istanbul (Turkey), Yerevan (Armenia), Kutaisi (Georgia), Maribor (Slovenia), Nuremberg (Germany), Warsaw (Poland) St. Petersburg (Russia), Tianjin (China), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and Kharkiv.
 
The participants of the fair were placed in 12 wooden cottages. All guests of the fair represented their national dishes, some participants sold souvenirs, organized concerts and exhibitions.
 
Three foreign official delegations from Belgorod, Gaziantep and Kutaisi arrived to participate in the fair this year.
