Along with the Ukrainian delegation Kharkiv deputy undertook an internship in the USA Ukrainian delegation with Kharkiv deputy Evgenii Shapoval undertook an internship in USA as part of the programme "Open World".
 
During ten days of traineeship the delegation took guidance seminar in Washington and visited Little Rock city (Arkansas). As a part of the trip the members of the delegation met with the city and state authorities, with experts in city planning and infrastructure development, with lobby members and the Head of municipal state league. Also Kharkiv was represented to the students of Arkansas university.
 
In the course of the meeting with the senator of Arkansas – Missi Irving, they put an emphasis on the questions of nonconventional gas production. After the meeting with Ukrainian delegates the State Senate passed a resolution that supports an aspiration of Ukrainians to energy independence and nonconventional gas production in Ukraine.
 
Note. The "Open World" programme was founded in 1999 by the Congress at the initiative of two outstanding scientists and socio-political agents of Russia and USA – the member of the Academy of Sciences Dmitriy Lihachev and the head of the Library of Congress – James Billington. In 2003 the programme was widen to Ukraine. The main aim of  "Open World" programme is to strengthen mutual intelligibility and joint engagement between Ukraine and United States through the exchange of experience and ideas among Ukrainian leaders and their American counterparts. The "Open World" is the only exchange program of the legislature of the United States. It gets annual funds from the U.S. Congress.
