Kharkiv participants of “Ecofan” project have won the first stage of the competition of ecological activists of EURO-2012 host cities. Kharkiv “eco-Christmas tree” gained 271 balls and was voted the best according to the results of the competition.
Let us remind that on the 15th of December at the Alley of Sports Fame in Sumskaya street an alternative ecological Christmas tree was opened within “Ecofan” project which was initiated by the official partner of EURO-2012 championship “Coca-Cola” company. It was also supported by the Department on issues of EURO-2012 preparing of Kharkiv city council.
Kharkiv ecofans have made the Christmas tree by themselves. They used old clothes and balloons for it. The similar task was made in Kiev on the 6th of December and in Donetsk on the 21st of December and in Lviv on the 17th of December.
As the organizers informed the event was aimed to attract citizens attention to the clearance of the city and to prove that not just alive trees of the forests are able to decorate the city, but creative hand-made trees of recycled materials are able to do the same as well.
As they informed in the Department on issues of preparing EURO-2012 the second stage of the project would pass till the 15th of January. The task of it is to photo an example of ecological New Year and Christmas celebration. The pictures must be placed in a relative album of “Ecofan” group Vkontakte. The organizers are waiting for the pictures demonstrating responsible attitude to environment as a way of life
