Kharkiv and Cincinnati will launch collaborative fine arts projects Kharkiv and its American twin city Cincinnati will launch collaborative projects in picture exchange.
 
It was informed by Alan Brown, the president of town twining committee during their meeting with Igor Terekhov, the deputy mayor in development and life support of Kharkiv city.
 
He told that the project takes its begining on September, 19 and presupposes the exchange of works of artists from Kharkiv and Cincinnati. The pictures will be on display in each city as a part of International exhibition «ReArt/World Garden». Twelve artists take part in the project. There will be six artists from each city and they will provide 84 pictures.
 
Under the terms of the project artists from each participating city create picture in two copies. Each artists is able to choose any topic, materials, work tools and technical skills. Also he makes the description of the creation. Authentic picture is scanned in 100 percent size and along with the description is sent to the other city via the Internet. The artist in that city creates his own piece of art by working with this picture created by the artist. He also uses the materials and technical skills of his own. These pictures are called «reart».
 
Each team of the artists prepares the exhibition of the «reart» works in the gallery of their city. After the exhibition is created the artists from other cities are invited. In such a case, the artists from the exhibiting city provides the living arrangements in a family, cultural and entertainment programme. Volunteer interpreters can also come with the group of artists.
 
The project between Kharkiv and Cincinnati is carried out at the expense of twining committee Cincinnati-Kharkiv. It is one out of the seven organizations of city partners of Cincinnati .
 
Note. «ReArt» project has been carried between twin cities of Cincinnati  since 2005. The exhibition in  Cincinnati attracts the attention of 90 thousand visitors each year. The first project «Change of scene» has united 18 professional artists from Cincinnati , Munich(Germany) and introduced 180 works of art that have been displayed in four cities since 2005 till 2007. In 2008 the «ReArt» project was awarded with the prise of «Art Innovation» by the International organization of twin cities.
