Ihor Terekhov on the demolition of damaged buildings: We will not delay

The houses destroyed by shelling will be dismantled immediately after all of the necessary procedures are completed.

This was announced today, 22 February, by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov during a conversation with journalists. The Mayor reminded that 500 buildings in the City are beyond repair.

‘We will build new houses, schools’ and kindergartens. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, but we will manage. We will not delay the dismantling of damaged buildings. But we have to go through all the procedural steps. I really want it to happen in the spring,’ said Ihor Terekhov.

The Mayor also said that the City is currently planning to build two neighbourhoods with a total area of 700 hectares. One of them will be located near Barabashovo subway station, and the other – on the undeveloped land plots of Northern Saltivka.
