According to an invitation of the mayor of Varna (Bulgaria) which is a twin city of Kharkiv the delegation of Kharkiv headed by the secretary of Kharkiv city council Alexander Novak are going to participate in celebration of Varna Day of the City on the 15th of August.
Kharkiv delegation is going to take part in testimonial and celebration events of the Day of the City. They are going to meet the mayor of Varna, a general secretary of the community, Consul General of Ukraine in Varna. They plan to discuss questions of further cooperation between the twin cities and perspectives of realization of common projects in different areas of the city life of Kharkiv and Varna.
Information. Varna is the third biggest city of Bulgaria after Sofia and Plovdiv (with population of 342 thousand people). It is also considered to be the sea capital of Bulgaria and it is a large administrative, cultural and touristic center of Bulgaria. A proper system of public transport in resort zones and suburbs, an international airport, a railway station and a passenger ship terminal, a wide net of shops help a great flow of tourists of all over the world greatly. Leading brunches of Bulgarian economics are concentrated in Varna. They are machine building, ship building, chemical industry, sea and air transport, food and consumer industry. About 35% of import and 50% of export of Bulgaria pass through Varna.
