The mayor of Kharkiv Gennady Kernes had a meeting with the head of European council representation in Ukraine, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Jose Manuel Pintue Teysgeyra on the 10th of October.
During the meeting they exchange their opinions of the state and perspectives of economical and humanitarian cooperation between Kharkiv and European Council.
“Kharkiv aims to European values and develops international cooperation. Kharkiv owns four awards of Council of Europe, and it is the only city in Ukraine which had got the Prize of Council of Europe. In the end of September we have signed the agreement of cooperation with the Portugal city of Porto. It shows that we continue to develop our relations. Besides that we are working at developing of the strategy of the city of Kharkiv because we have an aim for Kharkiv to be in Top-100 of the cities of the world by 2030, Gennady Kernes informed< - Kharkiv also is preparing to EURO-2012. The President of UEFA Michel Platini has visited us recently. He has given a positive mark to the readiness of the city to the championship”.
In his turn Jose Manuel Pintue Teysgeyra also admitted that the signing of the agreement of partnership between Kharkiv and Porto is a remarkable event for development of cooperation between two countries. “Kharkiv is very important for the process of integration of Ukraine into Euro Union”, - the head of Representation of EC in Ukraine admitted.
Let us remind that Jose Manuel Pintue Teysgeyra arrived to Kharkiv to participate in the international seminar of the countries of Eastern partnership on the issues of state regulation at local and regional level.
