The municipal power makes everything possible to make fans of EURO-2012 feel the atmosphere of a great football holiday.
The mayor of Kharkiv Gennady Kernes declared this on the 23rd of January during the meeting with the Dutch delegation.
“I would like to assure representatives of all the countries which teams will play in Kharkiv that we are taking under consideration all the wishes of fans and their federations. We would like to fulfill all the expectations of fans. That is why we are going to continue to meet representatives of football federations, it is a possibility to exchange our experience on the issues of security, accommodation, servicing. It will increase our level of hospitality and prestige of our city”, - Gennady Kernes admitted.
He also informed about the meetings with representatives of Dane, Portugal and Germany. “everyone has own specific features, own demands. Holland, for example, asks for the fan-zone belonging to their fans only during the match of their team. But we have other teams’ camps, the UEFA family quote, and we must consider everything!”, - the mayor of Kharkiv admitted.
Gennady Kernes also noticed the importance of issues of foreign fans security, because of the rioters among them.
“It is important for us to know of the specific features of Dutch fans, they are serious guys, there are rioters among them etc. That is why we need corresponding information of the Football Association of Netherlands. And our Security bodies will study this information and make their own issues”, - the mayor of Kharkiv said. A director of Football Association of Netherlands Bert При этом Геннадий Кернес также отметил важность вопросов безопасности иностранных болельщиков и угроз, которые могут представлять футбольные хулиганы. Van Oostwein admitted that there would be no problems with the Dutch fans.
“I’ve seen hundreds of our national team matches – there was nothing extraordinary during them. Our national team fans and Dutch club fans are completely different people. I am sure everything will be all right with our fans. We plan to get the title of the best fans during EURO-2012, and we have got this title during previous world and European football tournaments”, - Bert van Oostwain admitted.
