Three Czech trams bought in Prague have already arrived to Saltovsky tram depot in Kharkiv.
As the depot director Dmitry Lipovoy noticed three more trams are on their way to Kharkiv, six ones are going to be sent from Prague by the end of the week.
All 20 trams must arrive to Kharkiv by the end of November.
The director of the Department of transport and telecom of Kharkiv city council Sergey Dulfan informed that all the trams were bought from Prague depots according to the contract of private and state partnership.
“According to the demands of European Union the trams of higher class must move around the capitals of European Union countries. That is why they change their trams to more modern. A couple of months ago those trams were serving Czech passengers, and now they are going to work in our city.”, - the director of the Department noticed.
He also admitted that though Czech trams were not new ones, they are much better than the trams of the same year of issue which were used in Ukraine.
The term of Czech trams exploitation is 15 years.
“Czech trams will appear on the routs after we get them into municipal property at the nearest sessions of the city council”, - the director of the Department of transport and telecom added.
