Ukrainian Canadian cultural and education center opened in Kharkiv Ukrainian Canadian cultural and education center was opened on May, 21 in Kharkiv national university of municipal economy n.a. A.N. Beketov. 
 
The official opening was attended by the Counsellor at Embassy of Canada in Ukraine Gregory Lemermeyer, first deputy Kharkiv mayor Andrij Paramonov, the director of the Department of science and education of regional state administration Roman Shapoval, academic council members.
 
The purpose of the center is the development of Ukrainian Canadian cooperation through joint programs for the development of cultural and educational communication between Ukrainian and Canadian partners.
 
The idea of openning the center has appeared on the basis of successfull experience between the university and Canadian college of English language owing to the interest of students of Kharkiv region who want to study in Canada. The exhibition "Education in Canada – 2013" held on February, 24 in Kharkiv proved it.
 
The center will held language training of students and employees of the university, it will contribute the establishment and development of collegiate relations of the university and other higher education institutes of Kharkiv with Canadian cultural institutions, implement bilateral projects in collegial exchange, scholarship, research study etc.
