A parade will be in the Svobody square on the Independence Day

The main celebration events devoted to the 20th anniversary of Ukraine independence, the Day of delivering of Kharkov from fascist invaders and the Day of the city will be in the Svobody square on the 24th of August.

The director of the Department of culture of Kharkov city council Svetlana Babitskaya informed of it in the press-center of Kharkov city council today.

At 19.00 there will be a parade of 15 the best enterprises of Kharkov in the square. “There will be the heads, veterans and present employees of the enterprises. We ask them to use their creative abilities to this event in order not to make it similar to May Day demonstrations and to make it modern and interesting. I think that each enterprise is able to invent something interesting to show itself”, - the director of the department admitted.
Besides that there will be people who have the award “Honorable citizen of Kharkov” honored in the square. Also the parents of children who were born on the 23^rd of August will be congratulated and the kharkovites who celebrate their 20^th birthday will receive certificates.
Also a big concert will be in the square and a fireworks as a final part of the event. This year the Big Slobozjansky ensemble of singing and dancing is going to accompany the firework.
